Faulkton Area Medical Center is seeking a detail‑oriented Medical Claims Specialist to join our Patient Financial Services team. This full‑time, hourly position plays a key role in ensuring accurate insurance billing, timely claims resolution, and strong financial performance for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and process health insurance claims
- Identify, investigate, and resolve claim denials
- Research and resolve aged accounts
- Assist the CFO with financial audits
- Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with all policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Strong communication, organization, and critical‑thinking skills
- Working knowledge of basic accounting or bookkeeping
- Proficiency with financial and office computer software
- Ideal candidates will have experience with health insurance claims processing, medical terminology, or basic medical coding
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time, non-exempt; weekday schedule
- Primarily remote work from a home office, with occasional on-site meetings or training
- Self-directed role requiring the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Primarily sedentary with extended periods of sitting
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 10 lbs)

Faulkton Area Medical Center is an independent, non-profit, 12-bed Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic.
